feather your nest: the results

Feather Your Nest was a great learning experience for Sweet Day. Thank you to all who came out and sampled our product! It was a lot of work and a little nerve wracking to bake the minis and prepare the frosting, not knowing how many people we would have at the event. We ended up giving out about 16 dozen samples total. Luckily, we didn't grossly underestimate or overestimate the amount of cupcakes that would be needed. We learned so much about the little (but important) details that go into presenting our product, how to prep and deliver a large quantity of cupcakes while keeping them fresh and attractive, and what kind of a set up is useful to have (or not have) at an event. Although there were some challenges, we made some great contacts and got great feedback from hopefully potential customers (including a major wedding venue in town!). The dark chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream and the lemon cake with toasted coconut buttercream seemed to be slightly more popular than the other two, but not a single flavor was disliked. Overall we were thankful for the opportunity to get our name out there while continuing to perfect and define the way we function as a business.

  1. I thought the event was lovely. Was so glad to have taken the time to come out. Do any of the other vendors blog? I would love to stay up on other events, or venue happenings and be able to spread the word.

  2. Thank you so much for your support and enthusiasm! I don't know of any of the other vendors having blogs. There is a website for Feather Your Nest though(check it out at featherboutique.weebly.com). I know that we are hoping to have another home boutique this fall.

  3. I was also wondering if you have a facebook page, I know that it has done wonders for some other local vendors in our small valley to have a social page to spread the word, just a thought. Have a blessed day.
